Un Jardin à Cythère was created by Christine Nagel, perfumer for the House of Hermès. Inspired by the Greek island of Kythira, it unfolds as a garden that impresses not with lush greenery or floral splendor, but with its sunny lightness – a “garden in blond,” characterized by light and warmth.
The composition combines the powerful, grassy notes of the olive tree with the gentle freshness of pistachio and is refined with citrus accords. This creates a woody-citrus fragrance that embodies naturalness, elegance, and summery radiance.
The bottle, designed by Fred Rawyler, is inspired by the lanterns of historic horse-drawn carriages. Its yellow gradient glass reflects the sunny character of the fragrance. The packaging, illustrated by artist Elias Kafouros, depicts golden grasses, olive trees, pistachios, and the blue of the sea – a vibrant landscape that mirrors the essence of Kythira.
